awesome old signs n stuff

THE END OF MUSEUM STUFF!

ok the last day of the convention i was super booked up, with awesome n fun stuff. 1st up was Brendan, a tattoo artist from New Zealand. he had some spots on his arm he was thinking bout, then he mentioned his hand and i was like "I WANNA DO YOUR HAND!" so we went with that.

he apparently got chased by a headless chicken as a child, so no better way to get over a traumatising childhood experience than tattoo a reminder on your hand, right?!

then i had a nice guy i met at the opening party, and he decided he wanted me to tattoo him before he'd even seen my work! crazy drunken agreements......
he wanted something to commemorate his families nay history.......so more farmyard animals! it's funny, i've never tattooed a chicken before, then i do 2 in 1 day!

the photo is without flash, so the colours look a little drained...... wat can ya do, eh?!

so....that's all my convention doings..... i'm slowly but surely catching up with my blogs.....! next one......... MONKEY MAYHEM!

toys n tats

So i was gonna post everything chronologically, and i still kinda am, but i'm merging the 2nd half of my cultural museum day and the 1st day of the convention. forgive me time lords, i know not what i do.

ok so After the singapore national museum we rocked on back to the Mint toy museum. We found this lil gem last year, and couldn't wait to go back. The collection constantly changes, and lucky for us the staff do not, so we got in for free..... twice!

So cute!
*exterminate!*

Teach 'em young!

so many toys........ (drool).........

This is the view from the bar downstairs....not too shabby!

this little guy kept us company, he's called frank...

OK, so let's cut to the convention, day 1 i already had stuff booked in, so i got straight to work.
We met Grel last year, and she's collecting sugar skull inspired tattoos.... We were gonna do the back of her calf, but furniture was difficult, tables were wobbly, and i didn't wanna make her stand for hours with her leg up on a chair, so we went with the thigh instead....

She sat like a champ, and went and got another piece right after this. crazy lady!

After the 1st day, we (us and Ze Germans....more on them later) went out street drinking across the river from Clarke Quay. Can't complain when u got a bag full of beer, good weather and a view like this....

it certainly beats this view..... across the river!

Outta practice!

So i am back from Singapore...or as i am now referring to it .... "Singapoor"(it's a rich country but u sure do end up leaving the place poor! expensive bars and awesome bookshops = broke). I barely had any time online, i think i managed a total of 1 hour the whole week, so many apologies for the blog-less blog recently. Anyways, i have hundreds of pics to trawl through, but i figured i should at least post something,  so here ya go......

I always love the view on the bus from my gaff to the airport....

The roof of the HK airport.....

An awesome sculpture in the airport, it's a huge "dew drop" it makes for cool pics!

I love the architecture in Singapore, they've managed to keep a real nice mix of the old and new and the not so old but kinda looks old, and the not so new but revamped.....u get the picture!

The first day we had in Singapore we had no plans for, so i dragged Ross around the National Museum...

This was a weird multi screen video on a rough guide of Singapore through the years...
spot the odd one out.

This is an old prison door....

There were so many awesome photos....

I really liked this museum, coz even the stuff that wasn't antique or really a display item looked awesome....

There's loads more pics from the museum, but i got stuff to do, so i will try and catch up with everything, the museum, the convention, my new tattoo blah blah in the next few days.

In the mean time, here's a pic of some really cute chocolate milk (c'mon......monkeys and pirates!), and Ross outside a "London chippy"....in Singapore!

Who does your hair?!

So this is the painting i finished yesterday... couldn't get it scanned, so a photo of my sketchbook will have to do! It's a new sketchbook, was on sale and packaged so i couldn't feel the paper before buying it. I now know it is quite possibly the worst paper for watercolour ever... my god did i have a hard time with this stuff! definitely no more paintings in this sketchbook!

anyways, here she is.....Pantheresa!

In other news, i will be working the Singapore Tattoo Convention 2010, and am taking bookings. pls e mail me @ info@starcrossedtattoo.com with your idea, size, and placement and i will get back to ya asap!

It's all go from here!

So I just flew back to HK late last night after working at the 1st annual Singapore tattoo convention, which went down a treat. I was pretty much fully booked which was great as I only had one person booked in over e mail!
The last day of the convention was my birthday and i managed to get Jo harrison to squeeze me in a sweet ass tattoo before i started work! (thanks!)
anyways, i'll post pics of the work i did and other stuff as soon as i find the cable to connect my camera to the computer! (havent quite unpacked, and i'm pretty sure i'm missing a lot...i think my frontal lobe might have slid under the bed.
Anyways, so went straight back to work to find out the guest artist i was expecting next week is here already coz he had visa trouble in good ol' China.
so it's all go! I havent designed ANY of the tattoos i've got in 2morrow, so its gonna be a long night!
Anyways, thought i'd better post at least a few rambles to show i'm still alive and havent been sucked into the digusting abyss that was under my hotel bed (which we soon discovered was a sex hotel) it was pretty rough. weird noises late at night that were even a consenting female or some sort of most definately un-consenting animal of kinds!
Anyways, i'd better stop procrastinating and get drawing...
