whats new

some new work for y'all. i have just returned from a 3 week trip to germany to guest spot at my mates studio in Bremen. i'll get to that in a later post, but for now, figured i'd better post some recent work. it's been a while, and instagram is to blame for the lack of updates. it's all IG's fault. yep.

this eggy lil' guy was done on the lovely Lorraine up in Glasgow on a recent guest spot at Forevermore.

this guy really likes pies... and good times.

this cover up was done on Bo Bruce from the voice. Weird thing, we went to school together when we were young. Small world.

this guy came in and had this chest piece as his FIRST tattoo. champ.

nice lil' yin yang inspired fishies.

playmobil pirate. playmobil retweeted this guy which was pretty cool :)

these r two of my favourite people. they got married, and got each other tattooed as lego. coz they fit so perfectly together.

super fun lolly on one of my favourite customers, Lizzie. she gets the coolest stuff.

sketched this little piggy out and before i even had a chance to line it, it was snapped up.

gave this lady a massive makeover.

watercolour style cover up. fun to do.

covered a c section scar with this pretty blossom tattoo

this super scarey dinosaur was done on Shaz. she also gets kick ass tattoos. :)

this little shop of horrors/sailor jerry piece was on Layla.

this piece was also done at Forevermore in Glasgow during my last visit.

my buddy mike came in and got some filler on his throat.

i met this girl at a pub. she likes jager and wanted something to commemorate that fact. haha

super happy cheshire cat on a foot.

did this on my Beau in Glasgow.

Did this cheeky Tiki on Lou

skin head girl on my good friend Rory. Some freak at a skin head gig wanted to wank over his arm. :/

Another one on Lizzie who got the heart lolly above.

Nice rose i did recently. been doing some more realism stuff and merging it with some new school. Enjoying playing about stylistically.

Space sleeve finished up recently on Yuji. Awesome chap who sat like a rock. ( a rock on earth, not flying through space.)

did this piece whilst i was guesting at Black Oaks tattoo in Bremen.

Another watercolour tattoo done on a lovely lass who travelled a pretty long way.

Right, that's it for now, i better get back to work.

be right back

so..... guess i should post some work. (i do still turn up for work and occasionally tattoo people, ya know!)

finished off the gramophone cover up the other day......

did this today... it's covering some veinage (if that's not a word, it should be.)

it's back of thigh/back of the knee and she sat like a bloomin' trooper. can't have been pleasant.

in other news, i got another session done on my backpiece yesterday. ouch.

did all the colour on the right wing.

by the time i got home last night, the cling film had well and trully uncovered it, and i was totally stuck to my bra.... it was fuckin' horrible.

not good. and this morning, it's pretty damn angry looking. bruised, and just generally sore.....

it'll be fine by tomorrow.... that's what i keep telling myself.

in other news i might go check out the "gay dog show" later on, where they r giving awards out to the 'dandiest dog' and 'prettiest bitch' (don't ask, i'm trying to keep myself entertained any which way at the moment! i'll be sure to take photos if i go...... don't u worry now.

hell awaits

so it's been a while since my last post, having a smart phone has seriously dented my blogging drive, coz now i find myself just posting everything straight to facebook. sorry to all my faithful blogspot followers (who seem to be growing in number the less i blog?!).... i will try to rectify this asap!

so here's a fun cover-up i started a while back, looking forward to finishing this one.

she originally was thinking of the gramophone, the vines, the flowers, the feathers AND birds, clouds n' stars. think i have managed to dwindle it down to what we have here though.....

in other news, i've been baking some awesome gingerbread recently....

bought a cookie cutter box from r.dyas and it has some really random shapes. to be honest, some of them i can't even figure out?!

yesterday was my day off, and i took milo to the park near my house where he almost got eaten by a goose. crazy ass hissing goose on drugs.
he's all good though.....

and i bought this book..... i have way too many books on the go at the minute, so this'll have to wait a while, but looking forward to this one!

it has awesome Mucha-esque/horror illustrations throughout.

good stuff. til next time......

the beginning.....

so work's been pretty hectic, and with all the bank holidays n stuff, i just haven't found time to get online.... so here's a hasty update on the past weeks doings etc....

first up, started a big ol' chunk of chris' sleeve.....

"what's that she's eating" you ask.....
a flower.
"why" you ask....
why the hell not.

it's based on 'The Torture Garden'. nuff said.

And aslo started this snakey wrap around.....

looking forward to doing more on both of these pieces. good stuff.

anyways, i'll be at the southampton convention from tomorrow, so don't expect to hear much from me til mid next week.

Oh, and i was gonna go see the Descendents play with Teenage Bottle Rocket the other day.... and 'Milo's voice blew out' the night before, he couldn't finish the set and had to have other people jump in.  Postponed til August apparently. Funny how i was talking to a guy bout them playing Australia a good 6 months ago and they were saying the exact same thing...... hmmmmmm.
lame?
me thinks so.

Tonight i'm gonna get myself down to a screening of the Cabinet of Dr Caligari which is one of my all time favorite films..... and there'll be a live score accompanying. super awesome!

Waste not want not

OK, photos from yesterday are spliced together and ready to go! Here it is....

Obviously click through to enlarge.

It's based on a turn of the century novel bout a guy who had well.... too much money and too much time by the sounds of it. So he decided to guild his pet tortoise in gold and then adorned it with jewels.... spangly tortoise ended up dying. Poor little bugger. Hope he looks sad enough!

Super fun piece, but also kinda challenging coz i wanted a definitive light source for the majority of the piece, but also wanted to pack in some yellow glows on stuff to give the epic *aaaaahhhhhhh* kinda feel of something super shiny and almost holy. The yellow wont show through too much til everything is healed but i think the purple and yellow will work nicely together, and the tortoise is a nice dusky cool tone so i'm hoping for some healed pics too. Fingers crossed.

Can't complain.

So these past few days have been really good. Yesterday i got the 1st installment of my tattoo trade with the oh so awesome Mr Lord Montana Blue... I'm glad he wasn't keen on doing both sides in one sitting, my knees barely just healed and my back is itchy as fuck from the line work, so i think my body deserves an easy heal!

So here's what he did on my left shoulder yesterday....

Looking forward to getting the other side in a week or 2!

And today i had a really sweet piece in on a really nice laid back customer.

He sat like a rock. 10 points for separating mind and body. 10 points well earned. I really hope i get to continue this sleeve to the end, i still don't have a full sleeve in my portfolio...

I've come to the conclusion that people can be as transient as their train of thought... so i've kinda given up hope on having a full sleeve project any time soon. (don't get me wrong, i've done a few.... but none that i would put in my portfolio, mainly due to them being stylistically different from the kind of work i would rather do....)

I still need to piece all the photos from today's piece together as it crawls round the wrist (oh the pun is SO intended), so for now, all y'all get is a snippet....

Hopefully I'll find some time to post it tomorrow, but as i have no Internet at home, this may have to wait til Wednesday. We'll see....

Looks like tonight I'll be going to watch the Chariot play the Underworld. (they dont normally look that dapper, but it's a cool photo so that's what ya get!) Don't really know the band, all i know is they are Christian and can verge on metal.... neither of which are in my top 5 favorite things...and from what I've seen on youtube, I'm gonna have a hard time keeping my fresh tattoo away from elbows and the like.
i think it'll be worth it to see the guitarist go mental though.... oooh he better go mental.
wish me luck....

tattoos are like buses... you wait for ages then 3 come along at once.

So, been a while since i posted a tattoo i think ... well one that i made, not one that i got.....

so here's not one, not two.... but three! Aren't you lucky?

So, in chronological order... (not that it matter to you, but it does to me)

So first up is Dancin Mike/Fruitbag/Mike Only he has a lot of names, yes.

He's playing a gig tonight @ the railroad cafe on Morning Lane. Entry=3 clams, doors 7:30. be there.

So then Lil' Alan came and got this (i'm stoked i managed to talk someone into this, and he aint regretting it. So much so in fact that last night at his leaving party, a girls response to "check out my new tattoo" was "oh my god you're my hero!")
true story.

and finally, catching up to date.... just finished this on Justin from Hong Kong.....

yup. til next time y'all..... have a good weekend.

muffins are for people to scared to eat cake for breakfast

so this is what i did today. really fun piece on a lovely lady down from Wales.

it's tucked up on the upper inner arm. poor thing started to struggle towards the end, but all in all, took it like a champ.

anyways, bout to leave work, so short n sweet it is.

Home is where the house is

So after a full day yesterday, i took it upon myself to stay back and do some after hours foot torture.

Miss Sinead wanted a pirate ship and a lighthouse. She was very generous with her giving of body parts, as i got not one foot, but TWO feet! All the feet she has.... mine. yup.

The original sketch had some scenic palm trees on the left side, but she wanted it to be more like ireland, so out came the palm trees and in went.... little houses?! s'pose i could have thrown a brewery in there somewhere......

she sat like a trooper. can't have been fun.... at all. She even managed to walk to the nearest drinking establishment after wards without a hint of a complaint.
